Supporting capability / Biobanking

Continuity across the specimen lifecycle.

Biobanking and specimen management connect what is collected with what can be retrieved, reviewed and released. Nexhavia coordinates these activities within an agreed programme and documented responsibilities.

Who we support
For research teams and institutions managing project collections, banked materials or an ongoing biospecimen programme.

Discuss Biobanking

Establish a consistent record

A programme begins with the identifiers, records and handling responsibilities that will remain linked to each material.

  • Accessioning and coding coordination.
  • Processing, aliquoting and preservation coordination within the agreed scope.
  • Linked handling records and coded clinical information.

Manage storage, access and retrieval

Storage and specimen-management arrangements are matched to the programme. The performing facility, relevant capabilities and responsibilities are confirmed for the work.

  • Storage coordination and inventory management.
  • Retrieval and authorised release.
  • Traceability and reconciliation of the agreed specimen and inventory records.

Plan the end of the programme as carefully as the start

Retention, access, return, transfer and disposition arrangements should be agreed before work begins and reviewed when the programme changes. Facility ownership and the specific storage configuration are established during feasibility; service availability does not imply that every facility is owned by Nexhavia.

How engagements work

A clear route from question to delivery.

  1. Understand

Discuss the research need, cohort, materials and intended use.

  2. Assess

Evaluate feasibility, permissions and operational requirements.

  3. Agree

Define scope, responsibilities, deliverables and review points.

  4. Coordinate

Prepare the records, people and practical work.

  5. Review

Check agreed quality documents, records and open items.

  6. Deliver

Complete the handover, receipt follow-up and reconciliation.
