Core capability / Human biospecimens

The right materials begin with the right questions.

Nexhavia supports human biospecimen sourcing and project-specific collections, connecting material requirements with clinical context, documentation and a feasible delivery approach.

Who we support
For diagnostic and assay developers, pharmaceutical and biotechnology researchers, laboratories and academic or translational research teams.

Choose the collection model that fits

We assess retrospective and banked sourcing alongside prospective, project-specific collections. Healthy and disease cohorts, matched materials and longitudinal programmes can be explored within the agreed permissions and operational scope.

  • Banked and retrospective materials with available, permitted clinical context.
  • Prospective collections designed around an agreed research requirement.
  • Matched and longitudinal programmes, including repeat timepoints and linked materials.

Explore a broad range of research materials

Material type, suitability, associated information and availability are confirmed during feasibility. This is a capability overview, not a live stock catalogue.

  • Whole blood, serum, plasma, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and buffy coat.
  • FFPE blocks and slides; fresh, fresh-frozen and cryopreserved tissue.
  • Tumour, normal and matched adjacent-normal material.
  • DNA and RNA sourcing or preparation within the agreed laboratory scope.
  • Urine, saliva, cerebrospinal fluid, ascitic fluid and other selected research matrices.
  • Bone marrow and specialist collections when clinically and operationally appropriate.
  • Matched combinations of tissue, blood fractions and other materials with agreed clinical information.

Connect materials with useful context

Depending on availability and permission, clinical annotation can include diagnosis, histology, stage, grade, treatment context, biomarkers and follow-up. The project specifies the requested fields, coding approach and documentation expectations.

Define acceptance and delivery together

The agreed scope identifies the collection or sourcing route, roles, relevant quality review, permitted use and transfer arrangements. Biobanking, pathology, laboratory and logistics support can be coordinated around the project.

How engagements work

A clear route from question to delivery.

  1. Understand

Discuss the research need, cohort, materials and intended use.

  2. Assess

Evaluate feasibility, permissions and operational requirements.

  3. Agree

Define scope, responsibilities, deliverables and review points.

  4. Coordinate

Prepare the records, people and practical work.

  5. Review

Check agreed quality documents, records and open items.

  6. Deliver

Complete the handover, receipt follow-up and reconciliation.
